New Digital Services

Mad River Valley TV Launches New Digital Services

1/9/18 – For Immediate Release:

Mad River Valley TV has launched two new digital services to aid fundraising efforts. Last year MRVTV began to test a technology allowing it to broadcast events live to its Facebook page and YouTube channel. Successful tests were completed for several events, including a ribbon cutting ceremony at Lovett Park at the Waitsfield Covered Bridge, a Waitsfield Select Board meeting and the Mad River Valley Town Leadership meeting.

With testing complete, MRVTV is now making this service available to others in the Valley. For a small fee, MRVTV will be able to stream an event live in high definition (HD) to any YouTube Channel or Facebook page administered by a business, organization or individual. MRVTV will provide one HD video camera and the necessary hardware and software needed for live streaming an event. MRVTV will also provide a laptop to monitor and manage the stream, which requires a good Internet connection.

To further support its operating costs, MRVTV is also offering sponsorship opportunities on its YouTube channel. Businesses and organizations can underwrite a video with an ad running for up to ten seconds at the beginning of a video. Sponsorship opportunities also exist for community events or municipal meetings broadcast live by MRVTV on its YouTube channel or Facebook page.

“More and more people today are using digital platforms to view video and we are increasing our presence in this space to reach this engaged audience.” said Keith Berkelhamer, Executive Director of the station. “As far as I know, nobody else in the Valley is offering these types of sponsorships. Our YouTube audience is growing nicely so sponsors will have a unique opportunity to reach this connected audience and raise awareness about their businesses.”
