2017 Live Music Benefit

Live Music Benefit at the Smokehouse November 17th

10/28/17 – For Immediate Release:

Have you been watching any local meetings on mrvtv.com when you couldn’t make it in person? Or maybe you heard there was an important discussion and you wish you had been there? And how often have you been glad you could share a school performance or community event with friends and relatives who do not reside in the Mad River Valley? These are some of the reasons why Mad River Valley TV (MRVTV) makes sure all the content we produce is available to stream online so everyone can be connected, and that requires funding.

“The goal with this event is to raise funds so MRVTV can lease ongoing space in the ‘cloud’ to allow all members of the community to view local events and meetings at their own convenience on the MRVTV website,” says Keith Berkelhamer, Executive Director of the station. “Many residents in the Mad River Valley can view our local programming through a cable subscription, but more can benefit with digital access. Given the growing popularity of online viewing, we recently completed a major overhaul of the MRVTV website to make it more video-centric and improve the experience.”

To support this initiative, MRVTV will host their 3nd annual community party on Friday, November 17th at the Localfolk Smokehouse in Waitsfield. The Smokehouse will be offering its tasty fare and brews for purchase, with dinner service wrapping up by 8pm. Then, the Event officially kicks off with live music by Chicky Stoltz and Friends followed by the Big Basin Band and their must boogie-to blend of rock-a-billy, blues, and funk. MRVTV mugs and pint glasses will be offered for sale, a 50/50 raffle will add to the excitement. There is no cover charge, however donations at the door are encouraged and will be matched by an anonymous donor!

All fun loving folks looking for a fine night of music, dancing and a good cause are welcome to attend. If you are unable to attend in person, you can still make a donation by visiting https://mrvtv.com/donate.
